Two Books that Started the AI Slop Movement

This post is taken from the site Librarything, a book collector’s website. The site allows you to review books read; I bought these books back around 2018-2019 when was a consultant.

I had this to say about “The Phoenix Project: A Novel About IT, DevOps, and Helping Your Business Win”

A very bad, stupid book, poorly written, and aimed at 12 year olds and braindead managers. No decently competent company would employ the characters in this “novel”. The book is a waste of money for 90% of companies as nobody in their right mind would structure or organize a company in that manner. And if they did, then upper management should be shown the door tout suite. But I suppose the management has bought into the bullcrap notion “Move Fast and Break Things”, the first notion to bring enshittification to the forefront.

This book is a handbook of incompetent managers and defective organizations.

And I had this to say about “The DevOps Handbook: How to Create World-Class Agility, Reliability, and Security in Technology Organizations”

I echo the feelings of other reviewers that this book is aimed at 12 year olds and braindead managers. This book could easily be summarized in a blog post, and not a long one. The authors convinced some sucker publisher to rush a deficient book to jump on the latest fad and it shows. The writing is aimed at 10-12 year olds who don’t know any better. I won’t sell my copy because shit like this shouldn’t mislead anyone else.

Yeah, this book should be trashed, yes, you should be the first and last owner.
